Our day of adventure started with going to try out bikes for Oe. We have been talking about getting him one as a bunch of his friends have the balance/strider bikes and love them. We had an unused toys r us gift certificate so it seemed like a great idea for a beautiful spring weekend. Sadly, toys r us did not have any in stock so we went to a bike shop close by. Felt kind of like failure parents for talking all about this dang bike all morning then realizing we couldn't get it. BUT Gregg's saved the day and had one in stock! Plus we were even able to get a used big boy bike which he will grow in to (bullet dodged)! Too bad our gift cert wasn't valid at Gregg's!
Owen realized we were by the ducky park, so that's where we headed next with the thought that he could try out his new bike. Mostly he just played.
Grandma introduced B to the ducks.
Mama and poppy went to enjoy the day with a bike ride. It was mom's first ride outdoors on her (quite fast) road bike. Tons of fun but hills were scary! And not going up but going down. Yikes. I have always ridden more mountain bike type of bikes and have never been so serious as to be clipped in...and the brakes were in a different spot. It was so weird but fun. I think once I get used to it I will love it. Going uphill was awesome!
We came home to Owen riding his new bike with grandpa.
After dinner, B and Lukey grabbed some attention. Too cute.
