Owen got a new dump truck from one of Justin's clients (also a good friend)....it is awesome because this dump truck SINGS. And every time the song starts Owen starts DANCING. At first I thought it was a fluke and he was just moving randomly but nope, he is literally dancing. It is HILARIOUS. "in and out, in and out that's what dump trucks are about...." Apparently that is worth busting a move. Cracks me up to just think about it.... It's happened about a million times (including us even singing the song, and others) but the dancing hasn't gotten old.

Daily Owen: 6.15.2013
I had another wish to grant this morning so poppy had Owen duty. I came home to discover poppy and Owen making me a pancake breakfast (amazing!), well, poppy was but Owen got a little sidetracked by a mild fascination with the mixing bowls. Love my boys.

Daily Owen: 6.14.2013
We have been playing blocks lately which Owen LOVES. However he has not quite mastered putting the blocks in the correct holes. So, like his dad, he's figured out he can get to the same end goal but he figures out a different way to do so rather than just trying to learn the "standard" way: just take the top off that has the holes and put the blocks directly in the bucket...goal accomplished. He was pretty proud of himself.

Our life is chaos right now. CHAOS. Several small words tell the whole story: trying. to. buy. a. house. in. Seattle. Keyword: trying. Related: please shoot me or I may go mental (the Seattle market SUUUUCKS).
But if there's one thing that grounds us? Yes. It's him. This smile makes us all come back to center and know everything happens for a reason and it's all going to work out just right.

Daily Owen: 6.12.2013
Owen playing with Fred the monkey...the monkey I bought right when we found out we were pregnant after just hearing the heartbeat for the first time, when Owen was probably just a fragment of the size of Fred. It was still so early that we hadn't told many people yet and definitely hadn't bought anything- at that point, anything could have happened. We were in that excruciating waiting period where you just want to do SOMETHING, anything....and you want to tell (yell) your news to the whole world. But you can't. Nothing looks outwardly different, as far as anyone knows, everything is status quo.
But Fred was my thing. My recognition of something tangible that represented everything Owen already was to us. It was admittance of this piece of us I was growing- before the kicks, the nursery, the showers, the announcement of the pregnancy, and WAY before the birth and everything that followed, including, tonight Owen examining Fred almost to say, hey, I remember you old friend- you were introduced via mama's tummy and you were one of the things that made me know just how much I would be loved, and how much I already was loved. Then, tender moment over (and amazingly caught on camera), squealing "NA NA NA" and beating Fred up by throwing him up and down and sitting on his head. Poor Fred.

When you wake up at 4am ready to play, play, play, you crash pretty hard at 6am. Sidenote: mama needs a nap or an IV of caffeine. Possibly both.
