Mama and poppy field trip

Justin and I had a wedding in Winthrop, Washington to go to this past weekend on Saturday. We had a couple of business things to take care of in the morning and wanted to squeeze in a quick workout afterwards, so since we knew it was going to be a quick trip we opted to leave Owen at the place he loves more than anything: Miss Collette's (our amazing nanny and her family, basically our second family at this point). As a result, and what turned out to be the best decision we could have made given our exorbitant amount of time in the car, we got to go on a date! A real getaway! And bonus: it was so freaking out there we barely got any sort of service on our cells, so we actually had to TALK to each other. Sometimes it is so nice to be unplugged, even if it is relatively forced.

We have been so jam packed, we booked a hotel room, oh, on the way over on Saturday morning. Nothing like flying by the seat of your pants! But, it turned out to be a nice little place right in town and just minutes away from the wedding venue.

As a bonus, our room's deck overlooked the river- really gorgeous up there!

After walking around Winthrop for a bit, we headed to the wedding. It was a great time with lots of good friends, and we were really glad that we made the trek up.

The next morning we got up and headed back to Seattle after exploring around the gorgeous area a bit more.

We had lunch with Bailey in Wenatchee (where I had pancakes three times the size of my head, seriously!) and then got to have more time in the car with each other. It was a quick trip but it was so nice to have time with each other, especially since that is such a rare occurrence these days. We have had a bit going on lately so it was nice just to take a deep breath and realize that hey, we still have the most important thing in life. We still kind of like each other, and times like these only validate that even further.
