Better late than never- Hawaii 2011, Day #1

So, since I have a bit of time and have never done this, why don't we relive the glorious week we spent in Maui for our honeymoon? I've never appropriately documented it on this blog so why not now? Besides, it will bring back good memories now that it's freezing cold with no hope of summer anytime soon in the pacific northwest!

On the morning of August 22, 2011, we woke up bright and early after a weekend of playing in all of the wedding festivities. Justin juiced to get us going and then we were off to the beautiful island of Maui.

We arrived at around 11am, Hawaii time, and immediately soaked up the sun.

Before heading to our condo in Wailea, we drove around a bit to several of the south end beaches where we took pictures of crabs...

...of each other....

And of us together. There really is nothing better than being on the ocean. LOVE.

Above is a picture of the rather rustic road that I took us down. Justin was afraid I was going to kill the car as I just plowed through it. Needless to say, he drove on the way back. (and to my satisfaction, the car was FINE).

After stopping to buy a few groceries, we made it to our condo where we relaxed for a bit and then headed out to dinner at Nick's fishmarket in Wailea, an amazing restaurant where we had gorgeous views of the sunset (also note: we already had gotten some sun just from exploring that day!) We both got salads, then I got the Island snapper and Justin got Ahi Tuna. AMAZING. There literally is nothing better than freshly caught fish.

We finished off the evening by enjoying our dinner, a bottle of wine, and the beautiful Hawaiian sunset in paradise.
