SNOW!!

Monday morning, the Seattle news kept talking about a winter storm warning. Ha. Yeah, right. It NEVER snows in Seattle, ESPECIALLY in November.

Well.

It snowed.

A lot.

It started around noon on Monday. Monday around 4pm, Justin took me to happy hour to meet a friend, at which time we thought it was a good idea to swap out the mini cooper for the 4 wheel drive truck. Two hours later when I walked out of happy hour to Justin's truck? HOLY CRAP. The streets were COVERED in about 3-4 inches of snow (when they just had a dusting 2 hours earlier), there were cars all over (that were stuck) and it was a true winter wonderland (except for the whole part where people couldn't get home)....

We were lucky we had swapped cars because even in the 4 wheel drive, it was still sketchy. We spun out a few times and spotted countless number of stranded cars on the way home. Some people were reported to have been stuck commuting for over 3 hours that day... on only 10 mile drives home. It was by far the worst I have ever seen Seattle. Seattle doesn't deal well with ANY snow to start but that amount of snow in that little time? It was a mess! Oh, and it was freezing (like 15 degrees).

A shot of the street on our way home.

Finally home, walking in the door. By the next morning, there were no signs of our footprints from the night before... it just kept snowing and snowing and snowing. Crazy!

And the next morning: holy snow!!

And a shot of the street the next morning. It was an ice rink. No one worked on Tuesday and the whole city was shut down. My friend, Carolyn, actually flew in to Seattle that day to spend a week with us... she got to see Seattle in a way that not many people do!

A shot of a tipped over bus in South Seattle that Tim sent me from work on Tuesday morning. Yikes.

And the little mini cooper, Alfred.... his first experience with snow since we didn't get any last year!
