Daily Owen & Bennett: 9.14.2014

Today we made the trek over to Wenatchee to move Bailey to Seattle (in two cars as we discovered this morning that the poor truck is falling apart and the rotor is completely seized up...BAH). It was a long afternoon but we made it.

In other news, we started to build Owren's swing set (well, started the process...no building yet). Bennett supervised. He slept on the job, mostly, and also had a huge puke on the job. 

Daily Owen & Bennett: 9.12.2014

The day started off (prior day ended?? I don't know anymore...) with cuddles from Mr. B.  

And a few hours later, tummy time!  Already lifting his head up. 

We took Owen to Miss Collette's, then headed to Ladro for tea. We made it to Bellevue and B and I went on an hour long walk. Then poppy and mama lifted weights while B hung out and watched. And practiced his posing:

After a stop at the store, we headed home and picked up Owen. Ate dinner and after bath a surprise showed up for O- grandpa Joe! 

Owen's new thing is eating a bowl of cereal as a pre-bedtime snack. I will take it over his previous incessant requests for cookies!

Daily Owen & Bennett: 9.11.2014

Today was a better day than yesterday, though we are a bit tired.

And a couple short hours later, big bro was up and wanted to be the "baby."

We played around this morning and then Justin came to pick us up to go to Owen's first swimming lesson (well, since he was one!) It was so cute- he absolutely loved it! He smiled the whole time and just had a blast...he even tried to jump off the ledge and "swim" himself, which of course involved a save from Miss Connie. 

Soon enough Bennett will be joining in on the fun! But for now, just sleeping. 

We ran to get the Audi from the shop (dumb shattered windshield!) and then went home for O's naptime. While O napped, so did B:

And then, Justin picked him up and we realized he also had pooped. In a major way. IE: dripping on the deck, through his/my clothes. Hilarious!!

In other news, and probably another post but I'm too lazy to make it one, we got Owen's new swing set today (his birthday gift from grandma and grandpa baker). Owen was excited because a big truck delivered it. However, the truck couldn't make it up our drive so we had to use Justin's truck to get the boxes up. Minor problem: the truck wouldn't start. Problem #2: we couldn't find the battery in the Audi. I remembered the battery in the BMW was in the trunk, so we were able to jump it from that. After that chaos, Owen got to see the big truck and we got the boxes up. Now the fun of assembly begins!

And in remembrance of 9.11.2001.... I woke up that morning as a sophomore in college and looked at my computer. I told my college roommate some idiot had run in to a building in NYC. I walked to class and saw the first tower collapse. I will never forget those moments or that day. Thoughts for all those who died, or who continue to mourn the loss of loved ones who suffered as a result of the events of that day.

Daily Owen & Bennett: 9.10.2014

It's not always roses and butterflies around here. O woke up early from his nap and was super crabby (for almost two. Freaking. Hours) and B was fussy too. I was by myself so at one point just took a picture of them both screaming:

The little one calmed down but the big one continued:

Eventually everyone got calm and we did some puzzles together...(and walked outside, ate dinner, etc).

Ended the night with cuddles. Ahh!

Daily Owen & Bennett: 9.8.2014

Boys today: Owen woke up to baby B in his bed, which he thought was so cool! We then headed to the park while poppy trained. O played and watched the ducks...B slept, of course!

We then headed to the puget sound birth center's annual "birthday party" at a park nearby. We got to see our midwives and Owen got to play on the swing set and jump in the bouncy house.

Bennett sunbathed and slept.

After naptime we headed out on a 5 mile hike. It was very easy but got us moving. We switched off boys half way. It was no joke to carry the 35 pound toddler plus 20 pound pack. Phew! It will get this baby weight off for sure (hopefully!) Owen's face in the shot with me was about how I felt. 

After baths all around, the boys cuddling before bed. Heart melts.
