Daily Owen & Bennett: 9.6.2014

Bennett: we had a party at 2am last night...Owen then jumped in on the fun from around 3am. But later in the morning while O played with his buddy, B got to sunbathe. He then projectile pooped all over mom while poppy and O sat there laughing.

Owen: O had his buddy carter over this morning and they had fun playing. O even decided to feed C! After naptime, we all went for a walk. Owen walked probably 1.5 miles and made poppy do some push-ups along the trail.

Daily Owen & Bennett: 9.4.2014

Today we started off the day with cuddles (as usual!) Then Owen went to play with Miss Collette while B and I headed to the gym. We picked up O in time for naptime, and when he woke up we headed to get the boys' hair cut (Oliver and Owen). Owen was hilarious at the haircut- he was so serious. But, he did great. And way easier than me continuing to attempt to cut it! Worth the money! Plus, he got an organic sucker from the stylist at the end so he was sold on the whole process. 

Big brother Bailey came over tonight and Owen was SO excited. Could barely get him to bed. Bennett was a little less phased. Family pictures tomorrow! 

Daily Owen & Bennett: 9.3.2014

We went on another walk today, and Owen ended up running/walking two miles of it himself (probably half of the whole walk). Proof that he is our kid... He refused to ride in the stroller. 

B on the other hand was happy to ride along and later was a champion cuddler while brother napped. 

Daily Owen & Bennett: 9.2.2014

Bennett had his first trip to the doctor today for a well check. He looked great and is growing like a champ. At two weeks old he's already 9 pounds 7 oz and 22 inches long (90th percentile). His head seems to be slight smaller than his brothers- 75th percentile (Owen's has always been off the charts). 

After we went to the doctor, we went home to hang with Owen while poppy worked. A thunderstorm came through (weird for us!) and Owen got totally freaked out. It also happened to be right in the time that B needs to be held every day- his fussy hour- so I had two boys directly on top of me for about 30 minutes. Can't say I minded the cuddles, but I needed a little bigger lap.

Pregnancy Round 2: Week 37

This post is coming a couple weeks late, but week 37 brought a BIG surprise. I was all prepared to write the normal weekly post about how I was having all kinds of false labor (and how annoying that was!) and how I endured a toddler's birthday party while GROSSLY pregnant, and how I miraculously made it past "THE" date I wanted to make it past - August 19, which is both Owen's birthday and our wedding anniversary.

BUT. None of that happened. At 37 weeks and 4 days, the false labor turned into real labor and baby Bennett Bo Valente was born on August 17, 2014 at 1:17pm. He weighed 8 pounds 7 oz and was 20 inches long... and 2.5 weeks early! Labor story to follow...

Daily Bennett: 9.1.2014

Bennett had a rough night last night due to sleeping all day yesterday in the car. He wasn't crying (the kid rarely cries!) but was just up. But, we had a good day today despite being a little tired. 

Below: shot from about 3am with poppy, milk coma, cuddling with his tyrant brother, snoozing,walking (and sleeping some more), and his first bath! He did great in the bath- I thought he would cry, but he didn't at all!

September?! How?? 

Owen is turning in to such a big boy now.  His vocabulary is exploding (literally several new words a day), and he is just exploring the world more and more. We are definitely still in the "terrible toddlers" and working on listening and being soft to brother but really, he is such a good kid. 

Today we played on the couch while Bennett ate, ate some soup (because Oliver was), cuddled with baby B, was a little monkey in the window, went on a walk with mama and poppy (and ended up walking about a mile himself!), ate dinner, and then helped give B his first bath. Busy day for the big guy!
