The day started off with 6am wake up call after a good nights sleep for all of us (amazing considering we were in a new place- go Owen!) We started off by opening presents in honor of the big day...a nice bottle of wine, some favorite treats, and tickets to see one of our favorite comedians.
Then to prove that he's not really THAT old, he climbed the beams in our room...somehow thinking that's not exactly what the resort intended with the exposed beams....
We then headed to breakfast with the little man. Picked up every rock along the way but we finally made it....
And all the little turtles played together and entertained the whole place.
Of course we had to get a shot of the three lumberjacks, too (coordination totally unplanned).
After breakfast Owen climbed a big rock with poppy!
And we all made our way slowly backup our rooms.
The big group split up in to two smaller groups. Our group went on a steep 2400 foot hike up icicle ridge. No snow in Leavenworth at ALL right now (completely bizarre this time of year) but we did get to hike! And we "skated" on ice at the top and bottom. Good times!
Most of us worked super hard but one of us got a nap.....
He woke up in time to see the view at the top. Which was....foggy.
After hiking, we went in to town to meet up with the other part of our group and had lunch. We then bought some of our favorite chocolates and rushed back to sleeping lady to get ready for the big wedding! Owen got another quick nap in the process.
How the dads and kiddos spent the ten minute ceremony....
During the evening Owen did a lot of exploring....
...with his buddies. He also did a lot of hugging and kissing on Olivia. Too adorable....at least until they are teens.
Once the dance music started, Owen was all over it! He ran out in the middle of the dance floor before the first dance and started shaking his booty....hilarious! We had to restrain him from the bride so that the groom could cut in.
Luckily the beautiful bride (our friend Tiff) thought Owen was cute, too. Good thing because he was enamoured with her!
We also spent a lot of time racing up and down the stairs. All in all we had a great time at the wedding- beautiful venue, lots of dancing, good food and just plain fun celebrating with the couple. Owen made it till 9pm when we called it a night and officially wrapped up the first day of poppy's newest decade. It was the perfect day to ring it in.
