Even though it's a couple of weeks late, I wanted to at least post something from our Thanksgiving. The past couple of weeks have been crazy between flying back to the midwest unexpectedly the day after Thanksgiving as my grandma passed away (more on than in another post). That coupled with getting back to work has left lots of blog posts in my head but not much other than "Daily Owen's" making publication.
Anyway, our Thanksgiving this year was really rather tame. We always have Thanksgiving at our house, or so has been the tradition the past 3 years, but this year by far was the most tame we've EVER had. We started the day out with a workout and then came home to relax as we'd gotten a bunch of the major cooking done already and just had to wait for the turkey. Plus, we've gotten smart and have had our guests bring some of the main dishes, too (versus the first year when we did about a million different things all by ourselves meaning we. cooked. all. day. Sidenote: NOT FUN...even with the champagne open at 10am).
So, this year we just did a lot of football watching and talking with the big boys and Justin's mom. Our good friends and neighbors also came over for dinner so we had 8 people total. But, by about 8pm I think Justin and I headed to bed since we had to be up at 2am to catch a 6am flight back to KC the next day. So, not the most exciting day but still a wonderful day with reminders of everything we have to be thankful for all day. Pictures:
The classic Justin doing the turkey thing picture. I will never do this. Barf.
Brothers watching football.
Our table- looked pretty good.
And of course, one of our little turkey... the biggest blessing of the year.
