Thankful in November: Day #1.

A friend on facebook challenged people she knew to post every day about something they are thankful for during the month of November. This seemed like a great idea, so I figured I'd take it to the blog.

The first thing that comes to mind when thinking about what I am thankful for is my husband, Justin. Without getting all sappy (maybe just a little sappy), I feel truly blessed to have found him. As many of you know, the road to him was a little, well, interesting so when I say that I have the best husband, I really know I do and only partly because I've tried out other husbands! Justin is all of the things that I'm not and a lot of the things I am. In that respect, he balances me out and we share so many of the same interests together. He inspires me to be better on a daily basis, he shows me love continuously, he is genuine, real, funny, and operates with an integrity that I know he has passed on to his older sons and that I can only hope our younger son will also get. To see him as a new father has only deepened the love I have for him. I can't imagine a moment without him in this journey of life.

(sidenote: I miss Hawaii!!)

Owen's first Halloween.

We didn't go trick or treating this year, although we got asked a billion times if we were going to (I guess to get the candy ourselves??) Instead, we took Owen to our friends' Halloween party (the weekend before Halloween) and dressed him up for the trick or treaters that came to our house. He was a monkey.

A monkey hanging out in his monkey chair...

And falling asleep on the way home from our friends...

And hanging out on Halloween waiting for the big kids to come by for candy.

He also had a cute little frankenstein onsie that we dressed him in.

I have a feeling that next years' Halloween will be much different and will involve us chasing around a little man...

Daily Owen: 11.1.2012

Technically this wasn't today (it was 2 days ago), but Owen looked so cute, I wanted to post it anyway. Little stud all decked out and chillin while mom and dad work out. He LOVES the gym... it's only going to be a short while before he is running around there himself. Happy November (sidenote: how is it possibly NOVEMBER?!)

Daily Owen: 10.31.2012

Happy halloween from my two monkey boys!

In honor of that spooky holiday...

I bought a bag of fake spiders to put in a care package to Oliver for his birthday. I thought it was kind of cute/cool but Justin immediately said Oliver would hate them (whoops). So we ended up with a bunch of fake spiders on hand. Justin and I have been playing games with them for the past month- hiding them in obscure places and trying to scare each other with them (yeah, we need to get out more). While I was cleaning for my brother's and his girlfriend's arrival, I decided to have some fun with them and put one of the spiders in the shower. I had THOUGHT my brother would be the first to shower (you know, shorter "get ready" time), but his girlfriend was the first to shower. She said it startled her, especially since she didn't have her glasses on to really know if it was real or not. Haha. Happy Halloween!

Last night Owen was hanging with uncle Jon and was fascinated with the fan... I mean, who wouldn't be? Fans are neat!

No, he did not eat soap. His newest tricks: drool and drool bubbles.

I have a problem. I am a baby shoe addict. The above is the first of three pairs of shoes I've recently bought Owen and really? Baby shoes? How much sense does buying baby shoes make? Answer: absolutely none (which my dear husband tells me every 2.5 seconds... I KNOW, I can't help it...they are so damn cute). We had to try these on right away, even with the halloween onsie and regardless of the nonsensical nature of the purchase, I LOVE THEM.
