Daily Owen & Bennett: 5.30.2015

B had fun today watching Quinn play baseball with Miss Collette while mom got a little break. Owen probably had more fun, but I didn't get a picture of him.

However, I did get this gem:

Sleeping babies are still the most precious thing ever, even when he looks too old to be called a baby!

Had to run home to feed B as I was in a conference all day. He ate and promptly passed out. It's nice to still be such a comfort for him.

Later while manning the two kids, Owen tells me he's got his keys and is going to take mama's car to go to work. Uh huh.

Phew, long day back to the grind. As such, only got pics of B.

Daily Owen & Bennett: 5.27.2015

4pm flights...aka 2pm our time at home...aka prime nap time = recipe for disaster. Seriously flights from 12-4 should be banned for families traveling with kids.

As expected both kids fell asleep in the car on the way to the airport so we prepped ourself for a long few hours ahead of us. 

At first it was decent. We had snacks. We laughed. We thought it would be ok.

Then we took off. 

The first hour was HELL. Owen fought sleep even though he was exhausted...meaning the 20 min car nap did nothing since he typically sleeps 3-4 hours. B just wanted to nurse so literally was attached to me like a newborn for over an hour straight! We even bought Owen a tablet from the plane thinking that could help. It did. For about 10 minutes.

At about the 1.5 hour mark, B finally crashed. 

Then a few minutes later, Owen did. 

Thank god.

They both slept about the duration of the flight. Whoo! All in all I really can't complain. They are stellar travelers.

So, now after a stop to get some groceries, we are home, full and missing our family back east- especially grandma and grandpa. But we are grateful we do get to see them so often and for having weeks like this last one with them. All of that being said, we are also happy to be home. 

Daily Owen & Bennett: 5.26.2015

Today Owen had his inaugural trip mini golfing (true testament to how much I love my kids as I cannot stand mini golf...but I did it today with a smile on my face). Anyway, Owen loved it. Of course. Anything with balls. 

Later today after a couple of face plants by Owen (who now has skinned knees), B was all smiles driving brothers car. Oe is doing fine- he now just reallyi looks like a little boy.

Gooooood morning! 

We made breakfast, then headed out to meet some friends (mom's college roomate) at the park. After walking around at the park (and the boys making new friends), we headed back home where we played more (duh).

Owen mowed.

This evening after naps. Pretty sure he can't get much cuter.

Today was a kind of lazy, rainy Sunday. But, we got to see Uncle Jon. 

Boys were checking to see if it was still raining (it was).

Finally the rain cleared up and we got to go on a little stroll around the block! 

B and his dang golf club. He will not let it go!

Today we visited an old childhood fav, Bass Pro. We used to go all the time as kids when we visited my grandma in Springfield. They just built one in Kansas City a few years ago and Owen was in heaven. B was impartial. 

Driving the boat was a HUGE hit.

Fish were pretty cool, too.

And little 4 wheelers were maybe the best thing yet!

Justin and I decided to take them to the park. It was maybe not the best idea as Owen was a little cranky, and then he fell so it was all over after that. But, we tried!

B had fun!

We did play baseball on a real field which was cool. Owen only batted one handed because of his owie. What a goof.

Yesterday evening Uncle Jon and Margot came over to play!

So of course we played more baseball!

Today was a fun day! We went to the Deanna Rose farm in Kansaa, which is specifically for kids. We went last year and couldn't believe how cool it was, do had to check it out again.

Owen got to give a goat a bottle of milk! The goat just sucked it down. Owen thought it was pretty cool.

He also got to ride a pony! He did so well!

In the evening, a little walk/ride. We are all having a good time at grandma and grandpas!
